Before I moved to back State College, my Sunday pattern mostly included driving back from State College to Carlisle, buying groceries, and making some attempt to prepare my meals for the week. But half the time, I was just exhausted and resigned myself to buying Salad at Giant all week. And then when I was supposed to buy salad, I bought a sub and chips with a diet soda. Extra mayonnaise, please.
After I moved to State College, my Sunday consisted of trying to get groceries and do laundry with Matt and food prep. I was usually up past 1o or 11 in such a frenzy that by the time I went to bed, it took my body another hour to calm down.
For the past three weeks, we’ve been trying to do the grocery shopping one day and the laundry the other. We finally succeeded! I tried out two new recipes on Saturday, and that ALWAYS takes me longer and has a higher emotional toll because I can’t do it on autopilot.
Tonight, it’s 8:43pm, I have ten minutes worth of dishes to wash and I need to make coffee, and then I can go to bed and read until I fall asleep. This is Day 5 of following my plan, and I’m so ready to crush this week!
